Bill Hicks was (and is still) one of the sharpest minds in comedy of all time.  From religion to politics to drugs to sex, his acid tongue deconstructed the hypocrisy and conveyed a sharp anger about life that was just as thought-provoking as it was hilarious.

No, no, no. Bill Hicks was not a master. He was not brilliant. Okay, maybe he bordered on brilliant. Hey, I like watching old videos of the guy. I just respectfully disagree about him being some kind of master. What is it with people over-hyping this guy? I’ve seen pretty much everything the guy ever did, and the only thing about him that warrants such unfettered praise is that he’s dead. That’s the only reason I can think of for the idolization. I mean come on, take an honest look at his acts. You can’t tell me he wasn’t kind of small-minded and bigoted at times. Sure he had some insights, yeah, definitely. But “master”? Master nothing. I call bull.

About Me

Hi, I'm Jeremy Meyers. I'm fascinated by what makes us love what we love, what drives us to create, the personalities and process behind how creative works come together, and how those works influence those that experience them.

In 2011, I started Deeper Context as a way to explore this professionally. My job is to have conversations that bring out people's passions and interests in a personal, intimate and emotionally resonant way. My clients currently include solo entrepreneurs, musicians and authors, and I'm always looking for more stories to tell.
