Music I’m Digging Friday: Susanna Hoffs “Someday”

August 31st, 2012  |  Published in Music I'm Digging

Yes, that Susanna Hoffs.

Those who might know her solely from “We Got The Beat” would do well to check out her powerpop excursions with Matthew Sweet on their two collaborations “Under The Covers” volumes one and two, featuring covers of such pop classics as “Cinnamon Girl”, “You’re So Vain” and “The Kids Are Alright”.

Anyway, her new album “Someday” falls squarely into the Suzanne Vega / Sam Phillips style of girl singer/songwriter sounds with close harmonies, confessional lyrics and a bright clean sound.

Yeah, its basically Music For Gilmore Girls. In a good way.

Recommended single: “This is the Place”

About Me

Hi, I'm Jeremy Meyers. I'm fascinated by what makes us love what we love, what drives us to create, the personalities and process behind how creative works come together, and how those works influence those that experience them.

In 2011, I started Deeper Context as a way to explore this professionally. My job is to have conversations that bring out people's passions and interests in a personal, intimate and emotionally resonant way. My clients currently include solo entrepreneurs, musicians and authors, and I'm always looking for more stories to tell.
